Interpretive Board Project

Look for the Museum’s interpretive boards around Historic Main Street Lowell and the Riverwalk. Each board spotlights a different topic or time period in our community’s past. The objective is to allow citizens and visitors to learn about our diverse and interesting history any time of the day or week, year round.
The first boards were installed in 2013 along the Riverwalk. The topics covered are an Introduction to Lowell, Native American, Fur Trading, Early Settlers and Lumbering. Additional boards will be installed along Main Street over the next three years.
Download our self guided walking tour of the Historic District or pick one up at the Museum to enhance your exploration of downtown Lowell.
