Traveling Exhibits:
"Lowell Red Arrows - the History of Lowell Area Schools"
This traveling exhibit highlights the history of the Lowell Area School System. Using a four panel freestanding exhibition form, the exhibit begins with an historical overview of the Lowell Area Schools and then highlight the one-room schoolhouse, the “Ward” schools and the High School on each of the remaining three panels.  The story behind the nickname "Lowell Red Arrows" is also explored.  The exhibit is located at various sites throughout the community for a one to two month period including  Lowell City Hall, Vergennes Township Hall, Lowell Township Hall, Lowell Area Schools, Kent District Library – Englehardt Branch.

Special Exhibits now on display:
"Gizmos & Gadgets - Inventions of the Past"
Sponsored in part by Dr. Richard D. & Mabel Siegle in honor of his partner Dr. Roy W. Westcott and wife Marian, Wendell and Helen Christoff and The Lowell Women's Club.

This exhibit uses a combination of local inventions as well as objects that were created to help mankind deal with the everyday struggles of life.  Using artifacts from the Museum’s collection as well as borrowed objects from community members and institutions, graphics and text to call out the story behind the inventions, this exhibit highlights the advancements, ingenuity, creativity and the extremes we as a society have gone to “to make life easier”.   This exhibit will be showcased in the Museum’s special exhibits gallery from November 3 , 2007 through August 30, 2008.

"Ghost Towns from the Lowell Area"
Sponsored by Lowell Area Community Fund & Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs
Capitalizing on a very successful panel discussion presented by the Museum about the ghost towns surrounding Lowell, the traveling exhibits entitled “Ghost Towns of the Lowell Area” is intended to capture and present a part of our history that is lost to many of today’s generation.  This exhibit will explore the histories of the once thriving towns of Elmdale, Bowne Center, Fallasburg and Alton-Mosley.   Graphics and text will be presented on a four-panel display unit that is easily moved from location to location.  Over the course of one year, this exhibit will spend approximately one to two months at each location:  Lowell and Vergennes Township Halls, Lowell City Hall, Englehardt Branch of the Kent District Library, Lowell Area Elementary, Middle & High School.  Locations have been chosen to maximize exposure to the greatest number of people within our community.  The exhibit is then available to travel to various secondary locations throughout the community such as the Senior Center, banks and other high traffic areas where more of our residents can have access to this history.

Other Traveling Exhibit:
From Wheat to Flour: Lowell’s History in Milling
From its earliest beginnings, the gristmill has been a significant part of the history of this community.  Lowell’s waterways and its bountiful wheat crops have played a central part in developing cooperation between farming and industry, townships and city.   The exhibit is traveling to Lowell and Vergennes Township Halls, Lowell City Hall, Englehardt Branch of the Kent District Library, and Lowell High School.
